Just as a new tourism campaign naming the Whitsundays as the perfect winter escape hits the screens, a multi-million dollar partnership is being forged on Hamilton Island. Corroboree Greater China is underway and has been marked with the signing of a $2 million marketing deal between Tourism Australia and Cathay Pacific. More than 400 delegates, including 200 travel agents from North Asia, attended the event, behind held from May 12-15 on Hamilton Island. Also highlighting the Whitsundays as a premier travel destination is an $800,000 campaign named Every Shade of Perfect, which will run until June 7. An initiative of Tourism and Events Queensland, the campaign works with Whitsundays Marketing and Development Ltd, Wotif.com and local industry to promote the Whitsundays as one of the world's leading tropical island and marine leisure holiday destinations.
