As if Sydney wasn’t lit up enough by the prospect of sport, sport and more sport — here comes the ever-popular Vivid, giving the city its annual sheen of brilliance. Vivid illuminates its unique way from May 22 to June 8. It could well be Sydney's biggest sporting week since the 2000 Olympic Games - ANZ Stadium will host State of Origin Game 1, the Super Rugby grand final rematch and the English Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur, while the Sydney Swans will play at the SCG. And it's not just all shapes of footballs flying about - the whacking of shuttlecocks begins when the Australian Badminton Open hits Olympic Park from May 26-31. Trade, Tourism and Major Events Minister Ayres said the city would be buzzing with 765,000 domestic and international visitors, bringing in more than $50 million to the NSW economy. Find out more.
