Accessible tourism: Opening doors for those faced with physical challenges | The Insight Files |

Information is key when it comes to accessible travel for people living with physical challenges, and it is rarely available on travel booking websites. That was the message at the Destinations for All World Summit in Montreal, which convened to look into the issue. Travellers with accessibility challenges need information they can rely on, to help with almost every decision on their trip from getting there and being there, from how accommodations will suit their needs to how they will get in and out of restaurants, or how will they be able to access the attractions they are travelling to see and experience. There is a strong need for training and raising awareness for those that work the front lines in the tourism industry. As destinations and travel sites work towards providing accessible travel for all, it’s good to remember that progress is a good thing.
