London has topped the poll of 30 global cities in a PwC study of the best cities in the world for quality of life based on 40 different metrics. The study examined what 5,200 people from 16 countries thought about 30 global cities. The factors examined included well-developed infrastructure, innovation, leadership, influence in terms of economics/politics/culture, happiness, affordability, traffic congestion, strong public transport, entertainment and cultural attractions, income equality, safety, access to public education and public health, and great food. The top ten cities for quality of life were:

  4. Amsterdam
  5. Sydney
  6. Berlin
  7. Tokyo
  8. Toronto
  9. Stockholm

Australia ranks second-best in the world for quality of life | The Insight Files | Scoop.it

For the second year in a row, Australia has been ranked as the second-best country in the world for its quality of life by a UN report that assessed economic, education and life-expectancy data. The nation's Human Development Index was measured at 0.935 out of a maximum score of one, coming second to Norway and beating Switzerland, which has held onto third place in 2015's annual report. The top three rankings, Norway, Australia and Switzerland are unchanged from a year ago. Australians can expect to live on average to about 82.5 years, have a mean 13 years of schooling and the gross national income per person is $58,618. Find out more.
