Spring leisure travel driven by older generations | The Insight Files | Scoop.it

Older travellers - including Baby Boomers and Traditionalists - are driving the overall increase in springtime leisure travel compared to last year. While many marketers are focused on the Millennial traveller, it is important to remember the value of the Baby Boomer and their capacity for travel. The largest group of spring leisure travellers (37%) are Baby Boomers. Factors behind this boom include an improving economy, pent up demand due to a difficult winter weather-wise, and life stage changes as more Boomers approach retirement and have fewer financial obligations, freeing up their time and money.
