Support for tourist donations to boost Great Barrier Reef | The Insight Files |

Researchers have found that overseas tourists would be willing to pay an average of $15 to help improve the water quality of the Great Barrier Reef. In a survey of 3000 tourists conducted by James Cook University researchers, tourists indicated that they would be happy to donate on the condition that they had a positive experience on the Great Barrier Reef. If they were unhappy with the water clarity upon visiting, they were not as willing to pay much to improve it.
