Australians are travelling to Turkey in droves for this year's commemorative services, with the numbers doubling compared to April 2014. According to new statistics released by Skyscanner, the number of Australians jetting off to Istanbul, Turkey for the 2015 services has doubled compared to the same period last year. Travellers from Brisbane to Istanbul in April 2015 saw the biggest increase, with almost four times as many people looking to visit, compared to 2014. But Sydneysiders keen on a Gallipolli getaway recorded the biggest number of travellers, with 37% of Australians starting their journey in Sydney. Melbourne came in close second to Sydney, with the Victorians making up 23% of the jetsetters to Istanbul, while Perth more than doubled its numbers from the same April period in 2014.
