Vivid Sydney 2016 has smashed visitor records with over 2.3 million people attending the world's biggest festival of light, music and ideas - an increase of 35.4 per cent on last year's attendance of 1.7 million. New precincts at the Royal Botanic Gardens and Taronga Zoo were visitor favourites as well as the spectacular Songlines projection onto the Sydney Opera House Sails that celebrated Indigenous Australian culture. A standout of this year's program was also the number of visitors travelling to NSW on specific Vivid Sydney travel packages, with a remarkable 88,300 packages sold, up an incredible 104 per cent on 2015 figures.
