International visitors are still travelling to Australia, despite the strength of the dollar throughout the year and poor global economic conditions, according to a new study. The number of international visitors to Australia grew by 5.1 percent in 2012-13, while visitor spending rose 5.8 percent, according to Tourism Australia’s International Visitor Survey.

 

The Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF) believe these positive statistics implicate tourism as a powerful economic development strategy for Australia, moving beyond the mining boom.
